Acquisition adds specialty extrusion company and Strategic European Presence

Marlborough, MA (August 22, 2011) – Vention Medical, a leading full-service medical device outsourcing company, announced today its acquisition of Ansamed, Ireland’s premier  provider of advanced medical tubing solutions, including multilayer, co-extrusion and multi-lumen extrusion capabilities, and catheter design, development and manufacturing services.

The acquisition of Ansamed will expand Vention Medical’s capabilities in the development and manufacturing of specialty catheter-based devices used in a range of interventional and surgical procedures.  Ansamed’s technology and breadth of experience in extrusion and braided tubing will add to Vention’s strong portfolio of capabilities in balloons, shrink tubing, and catheter assembly.   In addition, Ansamed will establish a strategic presence for Vention in Ireland and serve as a base for further European and International expansion.

Vention Medical is a full-service medical device outsourcing company whose capabilities include product design and development, custom components such as medical balloons and heat-shrink tubing, plastic injection molding & complete device assembly.
